Animations
I have made several animations in Photoshop CS4 as this allows me to make black and white and coloured GIF files that I can drop into Powerpoint presentations for my outreach activities. Please take a look at more of my animations on my Youtube Links this an area where I am very interested to make advances. Presently my high resolution animations are at 10 to 12MB in size and I am loosing lots of resolution on the Youtube animations at the moment. PROMINENCES AND FILAMENTS
Here is a prominence from the 15 July 2011 between 12-44 and 12-24UT unfortunately the seeing was a fairly poor grade 3 and there are two bad frames where I was filming through thin clouds.
This is a large prominence that lifted off on the 10 April 2011 between 09-50UT and 10-48UT, the plasma can be seen falling back as it lifts. The seeing conditions varied from grade 2 to grade 3.
This is a time-laps sequence of a huge prominence on 27 October 2010 with 67 frames taken between 10-30 and 11-40UT.
Here is a prominence photographed on the 29th June 2011 between 17-45 and 18-13UT [15 frames animated at 0.15 seconds per frame] seeing conditions were grade 3
19 June 2011 here is a large prominence complex that I have enlarged to show the structure in it and the Chromosphere between 17-52 and 18-14UT.

Here is an animation of a filament/prominence on 10 October 2010 from 11-33 to 11-47UT a small solar flare on goes off on AR1112 but there is a bad frame due to poor seeing conditions.
Here is an animation of a large hedgerow prominence photographed through my PST. Obviously I do not get the same resolution as with the 90mm Solarmax but it is still a good imaging telescope. This was imaged on the 14 September 2010 between 14-36UT and 15-16UT.
Here is a large prominence photographed on the 3 June 2011. I have modified the colour scheme to show a different perspective on its structure. The sequence starts at 16-25UT and lasts for 20 minutes.
This as a 5-frame animation of a huge prominence/CME that I photographed between 08-22 and 08-53UT on the 13th April 2010. the last frame has a height of about 240,000 miles the distance from the Earth to the Moon. This ejection continued an and left the sun as a huge plasma cloud.
Poor seeing will always spoil your still photos and any animation sequences that you prepare from them. Here is a demonstration of what can happen in Grade 4 and grade 5 seeing conditions. Here are excellent features but really poor seeing conditions.
This animation was in milky skies and I had to over process each frame making the animation very noisy. What I am doing here is demonstrating examples of some of my failures as these all serve to help us refine our techniques.
