I am regularly searching the web for on line solar astronomy resources and this article will remain a dynamic document. I am trying to provide you with a comprehensive access to the TV programs, substantial videos and documentaries about the Sun. I will give a title and in some cases a brief resume of each identified resource together with a web link so that you can take a look for yourself. You can also email me via the contacts section if you have identified and further resources that can be added to this list at a future revision date.

If the link has broken please just use the title to do a further Youtube search and you should easily find it.

Happy surfing!

HERE ARE SOME ONLINE SCIENCE RELEASES ABOUT THE SUN/SOLAR EVENTS

Here is a nice short video showing how sunspots work prepared by the Swedish Solar Telescope science team. This is the direct video link

Here is a very good NASA video on solar flares. Here is the write up on the secret lives of solar flares.

Over the weekend of the 24 February 2011 the Sun let go with a relatively decent-sized flare and prominence: a towering ejection of matter from its surface. This is a very high resolution video prepared by the Solar Dynamic Observatory [NASA's Hubble on to the Sun]

MAGNIFICENT FLARE: On June 7th at 0641 UT, magnetic fields above sunspot complex 1226-1227 became unstable and erupted. The resulting blast produced an M2-class solar flare, an S1-class radiation storm, and an unbelievable movie: This event was also captured by the ground based NSO/GONG Network here is the El Teide sequence of this same event. The team at STEREO also got this event from the front and behind!

Here is a NASA write up on this event. the Small Sun Proba 2 also captured this event
